Michael Oakes took on the role of interim vice president for research following the departure of VP Chris Cramer in the summer of 2021. Oakes will oversee the University's $1+ billion systemwide research enterprise across all campuses and facilities, managing OVPR units and interdisciplinary academic centers and institutes.
