Research Ethics Week 2023

UMN Research Ethics Week is an annual week-long series of college and department-led educational opportunities focused on professional development and best practices to promote, maintain, and model high standards for ethics and integrity in research during the week of February 27 - March 3, 2023. This week features the Research Ethics Day Conference on Wednesday, March 1—a day-long free webinar on “What Makes Your Research Trustworthy? Threats and Opportunities.”

"I would like to encourage as many colleges/ schools/ institutes as possible to develop and share opportunities that they will sponsor as part of Research Ethics Week to reflect the University of Minnesota research community's commitment to ethics and integrity in research," said Vice President for Research Shashank Priya. "Historically, this week has had a strong emphasis on research involving human participants, but research ethics and integrity extend to all areas of research throughout the entire University system."

Online and hybrid online/in-person presentations during Research Ethics Week can open a whole new set of doors for cross-collaborative efforts to share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with a larger audience. The events throughout the week provide opportunities for research teams (faculty, postdoctoral scholars, students, technical staff) to get together and discuss the best practices in conducting cutting edge research.
